F. Douglas Muschett received a B.S. in Meteorology and Geography from the University of Michigan, an M.S. in Meteorology and Air Pollution Studies from Penn State University and a Ph.D. in Economic and Environmental Systems Geography from the University of Michigan

His professional career has included:

  • providing modeling and monitoring for well-known consulting firms in environmental qualityanalysis

  • a  team researcher at Resources for the Future, Washington, D.C.  to develop an environmental systems guidebook for the USEPA

  • serving as a professor in environmental management and resource policy at Syracuse University

  • partner with an Investment banker in management consulting to the renewable resource and environmental industries

  • founding editor of the Renewable Resource Conservation and Conservation Peport

  • serving as Program Director, Pro-Natura USA, an international NGO promoting sustainable development and tropical forest conservation

  • developing international sustainable development and climate mitigation projects utilizing carbon sequestration, biomass and other renewable energies

  • author of numerous articles and papers in professional journals and magazines, including Environmental Management, EM (Journal of the Air and Waste Management Association), International Journal of Sustainable Development, Forum for Applied Research and Public Policy, Pollution Engineering, Independent Power, Waste Age and the Annals of the Association of American Geographers (the website section entitled Sustainability Papers and Publications includes selected key publications authored by Dr. Muschett)

  • organizer and presenter of various workshops on sustainable development

  • (former) chairman of the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Committee of the Air and Waste Management Association

  • co-author and editor of the book Principles of Sustainable Development

  • working extensively with the faith community including offering numerous workshops,  a graduate seminar at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia (“Caring for Creation: Seeking a Sustainable Society) and a graduate course at the Iliff School of Theology , University of Denver  (“Caring for Creation, Sustainability and Social Ethics”)
